BOLD VENTURES November 2025
Western Pennsylvania Blind Outdoor Leisure Development

This BOLD Ventures is sponsored by Terri Winaught in honor of Jim Winaught. Thank you Terri for your generosity!

Here comes November with its time to give thanks. I know I am thankful for the hardworking and generous members of BOLD! I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and of course turkey!

Important Note: BOLD has a new post office address. It is PO Box 10307, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.

A BOLD Ventures Sponsorship Update

Sighted members here is your chance to have a colored picture of your choice to boost the visual appeal of your version of BOLD Ventures. As you probably know, BOLD prides itself on the fact that our monthly newsletter, BOLD Ventures, is made available to our members in the format of their choice—email, braille, print, and large print. But doing this involves various costs. You could help defray some of the cost by being a BOLD Ventures sponsor for a month. Your willingness to help is much appreciated. We have two levels of sponsorship. For $75 you can have your name, and a short greeting and a color picture of your choice in BOLD Ventures. You can either supply the picture or request one. If you donate $50, you can have your name and a short greeting of your choice in our newsletter. For more information and to set up your sponsorship, contact Debby at 412-742-4288 or dm-hill@comcast.net.

BOLD BITS

Congratulations to Carol Lubecki who won the first-place trophy in her division in the Pacific Northwest Blind and Low Vision Tennis Tournament in Vancouver, WA. Jen Roth wrote on Facebook that “Carol fought hard all day, never broke focus, met many opponents with various playing styles, and won match after match.” Good going Carol! Also, BOLD congratulations go to Dana Aravich who played tough and won second place in her division. Way to go Dana. Also attending the tournament were BOLD members Chuck, Amelie, Maggi, and Zach.

Terri Winaught a BOLD board member who works on BOLD outreach, would like to thank Brooke Householder, for providing excellent assistance in an outreach event at Duquesne University on October 8. As a team, they were able to get contact information from a number of people who visited their table who seemed interested in possibly being volunteers for BOLD Events. Terri is looking forward to future successful outreach events.

Terri would like to continue organizing monthly calls on the BOLD conference line featuring subjects that you, the BOLD members, would be interested in hearing about. She would like your ideas on what topics such as agencies, organizations or even individuals you would like to learn about. To give Terri your ideas you can call her at 412-441-0925, text her at 412-595-6187 or email her terriwinaught2@gmail.com.

Happy November Birthday to: Bill and Tom Burgunder, Debby Hill, Rich Kuzma, Donna McKendree, Mark Pugh, and anyone else celebrating a November birthday!
