Continuing our popular weekly chat session! Every Tuesday at 7pm, until further notice, we will have a one-hour chat session where our Bold members can connect with each other or ask for help.

Veronique June 22,        Karen June 29.

Monday June 7, at 7pm on the NEW conference line, Nancy and Maggi will host another Zoom instruction evening, time divided between computer users and iPhone and iPad users. Sign up by Saturday June 5 with Nancy at 412-561-3972 and let her know which device or devices you will be using.

Attention! We are so excited to offer the first BOLD in person activity since February 2020.  We are looking forward to having as many BOLD members attend as possible.  We have missed being together with you.  We are grateful that we have been able to adapt to these unprecedented times.   Many thanks to BOLD's Board for their resourcefulness and continued work for our members.

Sunday June 13 starting at 1:00 P.M. and ending approximately at 2:45 for the first 2 miles and 4:00 for the second 2 miles.  Hike with Ray Jablonowski & friends from Catholic Alumni Meeting near the Bartlett Shelter in Schenley Park.  (GPS: Bartlett playground). Because we haven't rented the shelter, there is no guarantee of a place to sit.  The Shelter is at the intersection of Bartlett and Panther Hollow Rd, near the main signalized intersection in Schenley Park. Masks will be required in accordance with CDC guidelines. The event will have guides from the Catholic Alumni Club. There will be two parts to the hike each two miles that will begin and end at the same location. So, you have a choice to hike two miles or 4 miles & set up Access accordingly. Bring a bottle of water & a snack if you want.  Reserve with Tammi 412-951-6528 by Wednesday June 9.  If you've signed up and then can't attend, it is very important that you cancel with Tammi, so that everyone isn't waiting for you to arrive.

This summer, Bold is going to participate in lawn bowling in Frick Park, outdoors, off of Reynolds St. If you are interested, call Veronique 412-225-4038 to set up a one-on-one coaching session. The game consists of rolling a bowl on grass that is smooth as a carpet toward a beeping ball. It is a nice challenge, a little harder than bocci. Several people have tried it and liked it!

Penny Fleckenstein was happy to report that her son Isaac’s fiancĂ© will be moving to Pittsburgh where she will be starting a children’s Ministry at the Church the family attends.

Penny's book, LESSONS IN LOVE: Poetic Reflections is available on Audible at www.audible.com for $5.86.  The book was recorded by Penny, with relevant sound effects added by the producer.

Happy birthday to Linda Davis, Natasha Brown, Peggy Walsh, Veronique Schreurs and anyone else with a June birthday.

PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE by Terri Winaught.

The tribute to mothers which BOLD held on Monday, May 10th was a first-time event which went very well. In attendance were three guests and five BOLD members.

Both Joyce Driben and Penny shared how well they felt the call went, and Glenn, Terri’s son, had a similar perspective. “I was surprised that so many BOLD members were either adoptive parents or had been adopted,” Glenn explained.

As the host, Terri would like to see this tribute become an annual event not only for mothers but for fathers also.

THE END
