Friday, May 11 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM is our first ever FRIDAY ART AFTERNOON at LBPH (4724 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213). Feel free to come to one or both events. From 12:00 - 2:00PM, join us for our monthly Accessible Movie Afternoon. This month, we're screening Maudie, a biopic about Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis, disabled by rheumatoid arthritis, who struggles from the loss of a child and her critical, overbearing family. She becomes a housekeeper for a 40-year-old bachelor in Nova Scotia and as she gains fame for her art, he begins to support her and she falls in love. Snacks and light refreshments provided.

Then, stick around: From 2:15 - 3:45PM, we're hosting a Cojiform Playshop for Adults with local artist Isaac Bower. His conceptual sculptures, modular cast shapes called Cojiform, are nature-inspired pieces that can be built into various shapes, encouraging hands-on play, creative thinking, and community. He'll talk about his artistic process and guests will get a chance to feel and build with Cojiform. As mentioned above, feel free to come to one or both FRIDAY ART AFTERNOON events. R.S.V.P.s to events are appreciated: Email us or call us at 1-800-242-0586!

May's meal at the Pittsburgh Lutheran Center for the Blind will be on Saturday the 19th from 5 to 7 PM. To sign up by 6 PM on Saturday the 12th, phone Sherri Crum: 412-682-1800.
