We also wish Peggy Walsh all the best as she embarks on what she describes as a “ministry that kind of fell into her lap:” On Wednesday, April 3rd, Peggy began volunteering her services at Magee Hospital by playing piano in their spacious lobby. Having heard Peggy’s piano playing skills, there is no doubt that she will bring relaxation and listening pleasure to all who hear her.
Happy Birthday to Bruce Leverett, Joyce Mulkern, Jerry Penfield, Erin Wagner and anyone else with a May birthday
Thanks to all who contributed to the making of this newsletter.

PAST EVENTS by Peggy Walsh

Sunday March 17, 20-plus Boldsters came to a house party at Ray Jablonowski’s. Many thanks to Ray and his family and other helpful volunteers, for a splendid time: there were darts, the massage chair, word games and the ever popular “screw your neighbor” card game. Thanks to brother Bob’s lottery, two people named Cindy won: Johnson 2nd prize and Perseo 1st prize. Thanks again to Ray for pizza and hoagies, plus cupcakes and cookies, and even take-home containers for leftovers! What a kind, generous, high-spirited St Patrick’s Day gift event!

PERSONAL PERSPECTIVES

By Cindy Flerman: I enjoy reading the BOLD newsletter because it lets me keep in touch with my friends and the happenings in Pittsburgh. As for me, I was matched in a five day home training with a wonderful black Labrador retriever dog guide from The Seeing Eye in late August, 2018. Nixon was a part of a large litter of puppies whose names started with the letter N. He is the tallest dog I have ever had, at 25 inches, and 68 pounds. He is calm and affectionate, and will work at any pace I need. I hope one day we will be able to visit a BOLD event; in the meantime I will keep enjoying reading the newsletter.
