BOLD Membership Directory and Dues

In case you missed this announcement last month: BOLD will put out a Membership Directory. The last one was sent out in 2020. To be included in the directory and get the Newsletter in print or braille, you must pay or have paid your $12.00 dues for 2022. Anyone who pays dues for 2022 now will also count for 2023. We are starting to collect dues again now that we are having in-person activities. For membership purposes we need your name, address, email address, home phone, cell phone, and birthdate. We also need your vision status: sighted, partial, or blind, and your newsletter preference: email, print, large print, or braille. If anything has changed since 2020 and if you’ve already paid your dues for 2022, email your updated membership information to Ryan at ryanjleverett1@gmail.com. If you haven’t paid 2022 dues make checks payable to WPA BOLD and send them along with your membership information to the new address for BOLD listed at the beginning of the Newsletter. The Membership Directory will contain the following information for each member: Name, email address, Zip Code, Home phone, cell phone, and vision status: sighted, partial, or blind. You can request not to be listed in the Membership Directory; however, we do need you to send us your information for our records. Thank you for your cooperation.

BOLD BITS

Continued bunches of get-well wishes and prayers for Susan Lichtenfels and Veronique Schreurs as they continue to recover from hospital and rehab stays.

Please continue to send Jim Winaught warm wishes and many prayers as he continues to deal with some serious issues with his eyes.

BOLD Members Keep On Rowing Along: On Saturday October 1st and Sunday October 2nd, four BOLD members—Nancy Leverett, Jeff Mulkern, Maggi Ostrowski and Tammi Swiantek—participated in the HOTO (Head of the Ohio) rowing races with the Three Rivers Rowing Association Adaptive Team. The race ends the rowing season. It follows a winter of indoor training and a spring and summer of many on the water practices. On Saturday they competed altogether with four sighted rowers in a race and were winners. On Sunday, each BOLD Member paired up with a sighted person and competed in doubles racing. This was Maggi’s first rowing race and she was the big winner. Everyone had a good time!

A BIG BOLD Congratulations to Ray Jablonowski who was recognized at the Pittsburgh City Council meeting on Tuesday October 11th for his 50 years of work for the City of Pittsburgh. In Fact, Tuesday, October 11th was proclaimed Ray Jablonowski Day in the city. Ray gave a touching speech including memories of his father who Ray feels instilled a strong work ethic in him. The ceremony was attended by Ray’s family, friends, and several BOLD members. And Ray’s plans for his working future, you guessed it! He is going to continue to be at his desk for Pittsburgh.
Happy November Birthday to:

Bill and Tom Burgunder, Susan Etters, Debby Hill, Donna McKendree, Mark Pugh and anyone else celebrating a November birthday!
